This was the first year I was able to decorate our new home for Christmas. Last year we had no floors and barely any walls were finished. I kept the table scape simple this year and added these simple sleek glass candle holders. I paired them with a metallic colored candle that we actually chose not to light during dinner to save the mess. The plates and bowls are Johann Haviland -Blue Garland china from my great-grandmother. By coincidence this china was the perfect match to my walls in this room so I went with is and did a blue, pink, and metallic theme for Christmas in this room. I added simple water glasses on the table and left a crystal pitcher of water out for refills during dinner. I used white napkins from Crate and Barrel and added a silver snowflake napkin ring to give table a touch of winter.

I have had this flocked tree for a while now. I decided to add some pink and champagne colors to it. I added these simple ornaments and some mercury colored ones as well. I purchased some shatter proof ornaments that were more of a statement. You can find the champagne picks for the tree here and the pink leaf picks here. Remember when decorating a tree the key is to add all different sized ornaments and tuck some into the tree and leave some farther out on a limb. The tiny sizes are ideal for tree limbs.

I added some garland and berry stem picks to the mantle in the library.I already had the gold bells and just pulled them back out and added them to one end. We had the kids table for Christmas dinner set up in here and they had plates from My Mind's Eye and a table center of glass jars and mini mixed metal colored ornaments.

I wanted a more mixed metal themed tree in the library. I used some older ornaments we had and also purchased brown glass, copper and gold ornaments, and some gold beads and gold picks to give it a fuller look. I also added some small bows with this gorgeous velvet burgundy ribbon.

My living room Christmas theme this year was red and plaid. I absolutely love tartan and I have a few blankets with this pattern. I added two pillow covers to coordinate. I already had this greenery but if you need some I would recommend the greenery I liked from the library mantle. I added some green picks and some red berries to this mantle. For my bookshelves I just added a few nutcrackers and a mix of other decor like deer, ornaments and bells. If you have a bowl tiny ornaments mixed with medium sized ones make a great table decor and also glass jars look really cute filled with gold bells or ornaments as well.
Our living room tree is a more sparse tree I got from Home Depot and I added a wicker tree collar around the bottom. The ornaments are all older blown glass ornaments handed down to me from my grandparents. We added some tinsel to this tree for that nostalgic look. This tree is not pre-lit and I used a garland light strand. It is one of my favorite tree looks and we love the smaller size in this living room.
I sprinkled some MacKenzie Childs Christmas accents in the kitchen this year. However, I left the kitchen pretty simple. I changed out my coffee cups for some gorgeous winter ones from Anthropologie. I also added a small potted "Christmas" tree plant to the counter top and that has stuck around after Christmas. Often I will leave up our trees without ornaments for the month of January because the glow of the twinkle lights on the trees are just so magical it's hard to put them away!
